Thank you everyone for tuning into my live video with Dr. Jennifer Lincoln! The Jens in full force. And thank you for those who stuck around because of the technical difficulties.
I highly recommend Dr. Lincoln’s “The Birth Book.” This is a really unique book, as it focuses on the exit strategy. Most pregnancy books have one chapter or so on delivery, but there is so much to know. Jen gives you not just verified, evidence-based content, but she is also a hospitalist, meaning this is her job: delivering babies. And this is what you want, a well-sourced book from someone who does this work day in and day out. Science + Experience = Knowledge. All too often, there are books or content from doctors with very little expertise in a field. I haven’t practiced obstetrics for over twenty years, so that’s why you don’t see me writing about the ins and outs of pregnancy care.
This book is for people who want a home delivery, who want a birth center delivery, or who want a hospital delivery. Like me, Dr. Lincoln believes in choice in all things medical, but to make that choice, you need the facts. And you can find those facts, as well as a lot of compassion, in The Birth Book.
The Birth Book is essential reading, so if you are pregnant or know someone who is, consider it as a gift. You can also ask your library to stock it. And if you are on Instagram or TikTok, Dr. Lincoln is an ethical, evidence-based follow. I always love seeing her face pop up in my feed.
Thanks again for joining.
And let me know what topics are on your mind for future posts and interviews!
