Thank you for this conversation! I have very low ferritin (started at 4 and now 14, three years later with supplementation) and I’m considering getting an infusion now. You’re right, it’s hard to get in Canada - they want low hemoglobin or no coverage. Worth a try.

Dr Shelby Harris, where the heck have you been??? I have been looking for a holistic menopausal sleep doctor since 2020! You’ve been in NYC the whole time??? If you don’t take my insurance then I’ll buy your book!!

Thank you so much Dr Gunter!!!!! 🫶🏻

Dr. Gunter thank you for introducing me to Dr. Harris. As a gynecologist for years I struggled to help patients with sleep and often just said I didn't do that and deferred to their PCP. I now am much more active in asking questions and offering menopausal hormone therapy to help sleep when appropriate. But I love having these extra non-hormonal options to suggest. I continue to appreciate that you understand and advocate for more than just hormones as the answer. You continue to be a voice of sanity in all the menopause online craziness.

Medical professionals gushing over soda...diet soda...not inspiring confidence.

Nobody’s perfect. Like she talked about. It’s not all or nothing. We need balance in our lives, not perfection. She is giving us valuable advice about sleep, not about our food choices. If you don’t want to drink soda you don’t have to. Cut her some slack and breathe. She works so hard to offer all of us her time and expertise. I learned so much and appreciate her taking the time to offer this video. I’m not worried about what she drinks, neither should you.

How high and mighty of you. The toxic part is, as if needs to be stated, soda. Medical professionals rhapsodizing about needing their fix of this known garbage is tone-deaf. They should have known better. It calls into question their commitment to health. Set a better example, ladies.

This is so helpful! At the end you started to talk about elinzanetant and I would love to hear more about that. Were you implying that it could be used just for sleep disturbances even if hot flashes are not a major problem? ALSO can MHT help resolve sleep apnea? Thanks for making all of your thoughts public!

I can look at the data and put up a post!

Thanks for everything that you do! For a future post, I'm wondering if you could comment on this paper that's been making the rounds.

Boretti, Emma & dogné, jean-michel & Douxfils, Jonathan. (2026). Potential risk of neoplasms with fezolinetant: clinical evidence, mechanisms, and post-marketing implications. Journal of the Endocrine Society. 10. 10.1210/jendso/bvag082.

There is no current evidence for causality. There are possible hypothesis, as there are with many medications. We saw the same thing when the GLP-1s came out. I can take a deeper look at the paper this week, but if anyone is panicking women over this, they likely have another motive.

Do you have anything that can be downloaded onto your PC? I don't have a smartphone.

That link takes you to the website, you could see what they have on there. I would like to think the VA would have considered lack of smartphone access.
