The Hit Play not Pause podcast and newsletter regularly highlight women over 40 kicking ass and doing amazing things. Host is Selene Yeager who conducts thoughtful discussions. I highly recommend it for a positive spin on what actual strong fiesty women are achieving all the time. More women, less Brian Johnson.
There are a couple of 80+ age group ladies in my region for masters swimming. They show up to a lot of meets and are so fun to watch them keep participating year after year!
Thanks for putting this recording up!! It was great to have 2 knowledgeable doctor who are also women, setting the record straight on female health issues and current trends. It’s one of the many reasons I look to this blog for information—I’m always reading about or stumble upon these new “game changers for women” and I get totally sucked in! Although now I have to say that after reading this blog for some time, I do take pause and wonder what Dr. Jen might say… It’s genuinely difficult for those of us who are trying to stay healthy & fit because so so many of the articles that pop up for women’s health have doctors referenced who seem like they should know what’s true and what’s just fluff. Thank you to both Dr. Jen & Dr. Lauren—I lookforward to more from you both!!
Informative conversation. I, for one, would be interested in a deeper dive into the birth control pill (BCP). I realize we want to dispell the predatory fear based messaging around BCP, however, what BCP does to testosterone is profound and should not be ignored. A sustained suppression of testosterone in women (which is more abundant in our bodies than estrogen and progesterone per unit measured) permanent rise in SHBG, and hormonally mediated vestibulodynia risk should give us all a reason for concern.
That interview was really useful and I also enjoyed seeing you and Dr Lauren as people. I did my workout after listening - currently my Mum who is 91 is living in my bedroom while waiting to move. I'd like her to do some weightlifting and would love it if you would include those in their 90s as well as 70s and 80s for gaining strength. My dad (they're divorced) was doing exercises until he died aged 94. But maybe it isn't appropriate to include 90s?
I have hyper-mobility Ehlers Danlos syndrome. And I am trying to find a practitioner who understands this and will help me with care in menopause. Any ideas? I have had hot flashes for 10 plus years…I just want to sleep better. My primary care doctor says 6 hours is a good amount of sleep. Its not enough for my brain to work. I’m a elementary school teacher and cannot work full time anymore due to these issues. Thanks!

Agree!
Excellent factual information - I so appreciate what the two of you are doing and coming together with it and talking about it is even better!
Thank you!

Brilliant conversation! Thank you.
Wise words on why the push to monetize - I feel so mugged off.
I think it's really important to look at what people are selling

No transcript. I subscribe to another Substack that always has one. Check w/ Substack. Would love to read.
If you start the video at the top of the post there is a button to the right at the bottom for transcript. It scrolls along with the video.
Got it; thanks.
