Thanks again, Dr. Jen. You mentioned dental floss and some here might be interested in another non-plastic floss... Two years ago I found mulberry-silk dental floss by Etee. It works fine although I have to pull it very taut before flossing between two close teeth but still only rarely breaks, and it goes in the compost when I'm done. You buy a tiny glass jar with a metal screwtop dispensing lid once, and then buy refill spools, which come in a paperboard box. FYI to the Vajenda community. <3
Very thorough thank you. I think proving PFAS-free anything will be just a matter of degree, as these chemicals are ubiquitous. I agree the most important consideration seems to be water supply. I don't think I've ever seen what dental floss was made of, on the package. I always buy fine, unwaxed.
