Thank you. I really appreciate your clear explanation of how the copper IUD works and would be interested in learning about the others.

Thanks for a “script” to use to address the misinformation. As an active busy OBGYN, it is sometimes hard to find the right words to counter the half truths and lies. Keep up the educated dialogue.

Thank you for reviewing the data again on pre-implantation effects of Paraguard. Thanks for fighting for truth during this discouraging time for reproductive rights.

Thank you so much for addressing this topic. I was raised as a Christian but am now agonistic, but a lot of Christian ethics about this issue remain with me in adulthood. I find that the stringent pro-life arguments on this topic are willing to bend or ignore science completely, while many more liberal-minded people are apt to respond with snark ("Blowjobs are cannibalism!"). The more conservative argument here is that once the embryo has the full amount of chromosomes as a human, it is a human, and where it is located at any given time doesn't change that. That said, I'd REALLY like to see a discussion on Mirena and other common IUDs, and how we know (or don't know) that they prevent fertilization in the first place. Even the best arguments on this topic leave a lot of room for "we just don't know" and many people are just dismissive of what they think is a silly concern and aren't willing to entertain a different ethical argument. I can't take combined contraceptives because of migraine issues, so this debate definitely affects me personally. What are your thoughts on studies like this one?
