fascinating article - makes me feel better about falling short of 10,000 some days. I just read a great book called “Move” by Caroline Williams - highly recommend. It’s making me think about movement in a whole new way.
This is super helpful. What still confuses me, though, is how step count interacts with other forms of exercise. I do either strength training or cardio (bike, rower) usually 5 days a week, and just get whatever steps I get during the day (usually in the 4K range). I'd have to work at getting more steps, which I'm willing to do, but is the thinking to get the steps as well as whatever other exercise regimen you're doing?
NYT just published an article about the right amount of exercise, which, as it turns out, is still 30 minutes per day, five days a week, but you can get that in 10-minute increments if you want. But I'm good with 7,500, since I'm nearly 60. Now how can I sneak in a Fitbit purchase without my husband knowing?
